Then you are invited to join our Morocco/Education for All activities.

EUROGEO – European Association of Geographers cooperating with Discover and Education for All Morocco organises successful, compact and fascinating Field Study Visit / Inspection Trips to Marrakech, the surrounding Agafay desert and High Atlas mountains. We also get to know the all-girl boarding house project of Education for All Morocco.

All field visits start with a welcome dinner in a Marrakech hotel.

Practical information: This is an all-inclusive four nights/ five days/ land only package costing € 300,00 per person. You will arrange your own international transportation (flights) to and from Marrakech. Program details to follow hereunder!

Discover Ltd have been running field trips and holidays in Morocco since 1978.
These will be the fifth and sixth promotional field trip.

Summary information:
Land only price, arrange your own travel to Marrakech and be met at the airport.

Marrakech is served by many budget airlines, including Easyjet and Ryanair.

During the visit of 5 days, with only a limited amount of driving, you will have the opportunity to explore the possibilities of fieldwork studies around the following themes: settlements (both rural and urban); transport; tourism – impact / benefits; agriculture (subsistence / large scale); landforms; deserts and river studies.

Next to that meet with the Moroccan population: intercultural exchanges!

Jmaa-el-Fna

DAY ONE: The tour starts in Marrakech, spend night in central hotel near to main square Jmaa-el-Fna

DAY TWO : Morning guided tour of the old city Medina. After lunch a 45 minute drive to the Agafay desert. Walk/ride camels to our desert camp for an evening dinner under the stars. Night in tents or travel continues to the mountain village of Imlil, (90’ drive) 1750 metres in altitude. Settle in for three or two nights.

DAY THREE: Breakfast followed by an introductory walk and introduction into the Berber community of Imlil http://www.imlilvalley.com  with opportunities to explore: settlement; agriculture; tourism; river related studies. Stay in Imlil village, looking up to Jbel Toubkal (4167m) North Africa highest mountain.

DAY FOUR: There’s a choice of a full day trek with guide, mule support and picnic lunch or a gentle walk or justrelax and lunch at Kasbah du Toubkal opportunities to explore: landforms; settlement; agriculture; tourism; river and landform related studies, overnight Imlil. Meet the local population.

DAY FIVE: Return to Marrakech stopping off at Dar Asni to see the work of Education For All (EFA) an organisation providing the opportunity of secondary education for girls from the rural High Atlas. Schoolvisit!
The return to Marrakech, depending on departure time, can include a visit the Majorelle gardens of Yves Saint Laurent or last minute shopping in the Medina. http://www.efamorocco.org.

€ 300,00 all-in/land only, tour starts and ends at Marrakech airport

The cost is based on twin/double room fully inclusive of all meals (first meal is evening meal on day 1, last meal is lunch on day 5), transportation and accommodation (the cost excludes travel insurance)
