In advance of the COP26 climate talks, due to take place in Glasgow, UK in November 2021, EUROGEO joins more than 75 international geographical societies and associations from 58 countries as a signatory to a Joint Declaration on Climate Change and Biodiversity Loss.
In the Declaration, the global geography community calls on world leaders to place the protection of nature and a liveable climate at the centre of the world’s economic and political frameworks. It should be acknowledged that the work of geographers is key to establishing applied knowledge of our planet and human relationships with it.
The signatories pledge, as a global geography community, to redouble their efforts to help deliver a better tomorrow.
