EUROGEO strongly supports the International Geographic Union and its initiative for an International Year of Global Understanding (IYGU).
The mission: 2014 will be the 300th anniversary of the death of H Carl von Carlowitz, founder of the concept of sustainability. The IGU seeks UNESCO’s support for the proclamation by the UN General Assembly of the International Year of Global Understanding (IYGU) 2014..

EUROGEO plays a vivid role during these days. By the end of the three to four days we wind up with a plenary session called the Meeting of the Conference of INGO’s. All agenda’s and synopsis of the meetings can be found on the website of the Council of Europe under Conference of INGO’s. www.coe.int
EUROGEO uses these meetings to contribute, disseminate the existence of our organisation and to lobby and network with other organisations. Any member of EUROGEO who is interested can always join in.
